i just completed the webinar- summarized the final rule- nothing new there except clarification- to get to 275 you have to EITHER have board certification in addiction OR practice in a qulaified setting AND you will then fill out an application - you will have to attest to ALL of the following- 1. you will adhere to EB standards eg ASAM national guidelines 2. you can provide or proivde a connection to behavioral health services, 3. you will get releases signed for said MH services as well as medical services 4. you will collect data to improve outcome 5. you will have and follow a diversion control policy 6 you will provide patients a means to access 24 hour emergency care (though this doesn't have to include access to a waivered physician) 7 ensure a plan to transfer patients to another practice if physician ability to prescribe for 275 is limited and 8 SUBMIT AN ANNUAL REPORT- exactly what needs to be reported is what is up for comments (see my earlier post under a new topic) . ASAM states that they will provide templates to help with items 3 and 5 as well as documents to help you determine if you are c/w 4,6 and 7.
