I just read an editorial stating that addiction professionals advised against is claiming that it would lead to the development of pill mills because legit suboxone providers couldn't handle more than 100 patients. I am beside myself....that is so not the point!

our agency has been meeting with our state senator who is very interested in what can be done at the federal level to reduce the "heroin epidemic" in COnnecticut. The concensus was for said senator to work towards both doing away with the 100 patient limit and to allow aprn's to prescribe buprenorph...

I also make sure to the best of my ability that no one is due for a refill in my absence. Refill requests that come up while I am away should be limited to people who missed an appt or didn't take their medication as prescribed. Those situations are "on them" and they have to wait for me to get back...
