sslonim- did you write for the 12mg film? 12's are priced much higher than 8's- it is cheaper to take 1.5 8's than 1 12....so i have had insurance companies look for PA's on 12s and 4s but if i rewrite for 1/2 strips, they won't make me go through the PA process.....

keep in mind that none of us can legally treat addiction with any opioid other than DATA 2000 approved products- so whether it works or not, it can't be used off label for maintenance, or wdrl.

i know others have had a different experience but i have done a good number of meth-to-bup transitions and have never precipitated wdrl giving 8mg the first day as long as the person has been a full 48 hours off methadone- methadone continues in the urine for up to 2 weeks just so you know. the firs...

unfortunately the vivitrol people have just come out with a new patient information guideline which informs patients of the risk of injection site reactions- it is available for review on their website and they sent me a beautiful color glossy on the importance of IM as opposed to subq injection.......

i too treat more aggressively but in a different way- i send the pt to the pharmacy with a script for 8 2mg films- i have them return and take the first in the office- after an hour, they can take another- after another hour, if no improvement i have them take a third- i send them home with instruct...

I am thinking we can't legally prescribe Belbucca for patients trying to wean off buprenorphine products if they are taking bup for addiction- it would be illegal. Per DATA 2000, there is no "off label" use of any opioid product for the treatment of addiction.....this is why folks got in trouble bac...
